Design Week Portland is a highly-anticipated annual festival coordinating hundreds of events, talks, gallery showcases, tours, workshops, runway shows, and open studios, all throughout the city. This year the event, like many others, have had to quickly adapt and get creative with how it is presented virtually. The masterminds behind Design Week Portland have spent the last few months coordinating a completely virtual event sure to delight.

Date: August 3rd-7th

Registration is already open and accessible via Design Week Portland’s website. Events are organized according to theme – representation, civic engagement, design practice, and community. There are both multi-day and one time events, as well as plenty of accessible courses for free, and many also donating to great causes in the community. Events will be hosted across Zoom, Instagram Live, Webinarjam, and on DWP’s website, so make sure to note where yours is taking place.  Once you complete the registration process, further details will be sent to your email.

Since 2012, Design Week Portland has drawn upwards of 9,000 designers, creatives, and curious learners each year. Events are led by the city’s leading firms and topmost minds in design and I always learn so much every year. The topics are so diverse touching on politics, ethics, and education, among others. This year especially includes so many extremely relevant opportunities to learn from the Portland design community. Check out the full roster of events and sign up for yours here.
